Let her express herself everyone needs an outlet if music is hers well done !!!

Trash in, trash out. I agree that I would not want my eighth grader listening to that crap. To each their own but that’s just me!
Have you asked her what it is that she likes about the music? It could be as simple as, that is what kids in school are listening to and she wants to fit in? A few questions could put your mind at ease. It sounds like you have done a good job raising her. If you keep too tight of a handle on her she may eventually rebel. Everyone makes mistakes, remember that and don’t over react when it happens. Hope this helps.
