How long are you fertile after giving birth?

at my 6 week postpartum appointment, my doctor told me i’d be extremely fertile after having my baby but didn’t tell me for how long. does anyone know how long you’re extremely fertile for before it goes back to normal? anyways I got my first period last month but i’m “two days late” this month. but I honestly have never tracked how many days were between my period before I got pregnant. so is there any mamas that had irregular cycles after having a baby?

Mine has been thrown off since I had my daughter. A week late here, a few days here, or I would skip a month all together… it’s insanely unnerving :joy:

My daughter is 5 and it’s still not regular

Before kids I had a 28 days cycle and after kids it’s anywhere from 27-35 days and my youngest is almost 2. It could just be your new normal.

If you don’t want to conceive use birth control. Or have Irish twins!!!
It’s all up to you!

Up to around a year is average but it can depend on your genes

Everybody is different. It could vary… and yes you are very fertile after you give birth. And wait until the doctor says it’s ok to go back to having sex. You don’t want to hurt yourself on the inside

I have 5 kids. 12, almost 10, 2 and 1 month old twins lol. I swear I only ovulate 2 years apart lmao

Mine went right back to normal “clockwork” Tubes are tied plus I am not dating or anything so I’m not concerned with a baby #2😂one and done right here!!

Super true my sister had my niece and then almost immediately got pregnant with my nephew. They are exactly 1 year and 2 days apart
And she hadn’t even gotten her period back by the time she was pregnant but she had always had irregular periods sometimes not getting it for months so it wasnt a red flag

I got Pregnant breastfeeding on the mini pill and there’s only 14 month to the day between my son and daughter … my daughter was 10 weeks premature… I had my tubes done after I had her.
Simple if you don’t want to get pregnant right away either don’t have full sex or use a condom. X

Mind you we were careful when it came to sex because we didn’t want another baby right away.
